luxurious resorts and hotels in Abu Dhabi

Looking for a luxurious getaway in Abu Dhabi while keeping your social distance?

For travellers, privacy and isolation are more crucial than ever. Why not stay in one of these luxury villas within hotel resorts that provide you your own pool on your next holiday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates?

All of our options are located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. We’ll start with some of our favourites on Saadiyat Island and other possibilities near the city centre, then go on to some utterly tranquil desert retreats ideal for a romantic special occasion or a private family holiday.

Resorts with Private Pools in Saadiyat:

Saadiyat Island is an accessible “island” escape close to the action of downtown Abu Dhabi, located less than 30 minutes from AUH airport and connected by roads and bridges. A slew of luxury resorts along the shore, offering unobstructed views of the Arabian Gulf. Here’s how to get a resort villa with a private pool for less!

Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas:

Saadiyat Rotana is an excellent alternative if you want the best of resort services paired with your own private space to retreat to. It has 327 rooms and 13 private villas. For an ultra-exclusive experience, each beachfront pool villa features a private plunge pool, sun loungers, and a small kitchenette with a living room.

Within the resort, there are a variety of food options as well as Zen the Spa, which has 10 treatment rooms and a Turkish Hammam. With Aladdin’s Cave Kids Club, a lazy river, and a splash pool, there’s plenty to keep kids entertained. This is our top pick for families looking for a little more solitude and comfort.

Hotel & Villas Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi:

Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi is one of Saadiyat Island’s smaller and more upscale resort options. Only a few Beach View and Garden View Villas are available, each with two bedrooms, a private temperature-controlled plunge pool, and a rain shower.

Upgrade to the Executive Villa or Royal Villa for even more privacy and space, featuring a big outside terrace, maids quarters, and even massage beds! The Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi also has a fitness centre, an Atarmia Spa for exquisite treatments, and is located next to a golf field, making it the perfect island getaway.

Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island:

Many of Rixos Premium’s suites and villas offer “private pool” access, although this actually refers to direct room access to a long lap loop pool that runs between the luxury suites – not your own pool. Although your terrace space is deemed private, the three-bedroom villas provide direct access to a shared lagoon-style pool. The four-bedroom Superior Villa is the only option if you want complete privacy.

The private home can accommodate up to eight people and offers complete solitude while remaining near to the excitement. Guests get access to the Ultra-All Inclusive resort and have unobstructed views of the Arabian Gulf. The ideal location in Abu Dhabi for a special family gathering.

The Zaya Nurai Island Resort:

Although technically not on Saadiyat, your 12-minute speed boat ride from the island of Saadiyat will take you to the even more private island of Zaya Nurai.

Each beautiful property on Zaya Nurai has its own temporary regulated private pool and direct beach access (not to mention all the cool features and luxury touches inside your home!) and is some of the most premium boutique lodging in the country.

If you’re searching for a secluded party pad – and have the funds to spend – there are possibilities ranging from one-bedroom villas to the most spectacular 5-bedroom deluxe estate.

 Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri:

Six premium Villas of the Shangri-La Complex, Qayrat Al Beri, are located along the Grand Canal in Abu Dhabi, with views over the water to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. (Khor Al Maqta, or Between the Bridges, is another name for the location.)

Each villa at the Shangri-La features four bedrooms, a fully outfitted kitchen, a hot tub, and even a home theatre, as well as your own private pool.

This is a wonderful alternative for longer-term visits in the city because of its convenient location, which is close to Qayrat al Beri’s shopping and eateries.

Anantara Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort:

Qasr Al Sarab is the pinnacle of Arabian desert luxury, located deep within Abu Dhabi’s Empty Quarter. Expect great Arabian style and unsurpassed hospitality in their 52 one, two, and three-bedroom villas as part of their desert resort.

Your large bathtub and rain shower, as well as your personal butler, complete your exquisite desert spa experience. Guests staying in the pool villas have full access to the resort’s amenities, which include a wide selection of eating options as well as desert sports and exploration tours. Qasr al Sarab’s remote location makes it excellent for moonlit swims and starry nights.

Al Wathba, A Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa:

Not too distant from the city centre, yet far enough into the Abu Dhabi desert to provide you with the peace and isolation you need. This Marriott-operated boutique hotel is designed to look like a desert settlement. There are 103 guest rooms available, as well as one, two, and three-bedroom villas with individual plunge pools and patios overlooking the dunes.

It is lovely and elegant, with the added benefit of being close to both town and the AUH airport. Despite the longer drive, Qasr Al Sarab would be our first choice if we had to choose between the two desert resorts.

Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island:

Sir Bani Yas Island is a one-of-a-kind attraction in Abu Dhabi Emirate. You’ll need to take a short ferry ride from Jebel Dhanna Jetty, about 2 hours west of the city, to get to your private desert island, replete with its own animal reserve.

Al Sahel Villas are 30 premium safari-style villas nestled in natural savannah and are part of the Anantara Desert Islands Resort and Spa. One and two-bedroom villas with own decks and pools, as well as living areas, air conditioning, a minibar, and wifi are available. If a few curious gazelle or Arabain oryx don’t bother you when you jump, this is the place for you.
